Music is all about taking listeners on a journey. Chris Trinidad is doing just that with his bass guitar.
Trinidad has a pair of fascinating albums is Chant Triptych II and Chris Trinidad y Con Todo that draw on jazz and world fusion from the most exotic locations, from northern India to the Caribbean.
The Filipino-Canadian bassist clearly has a wide open mind capable of absorbing and translating many styles of music, which manifest themselves in his compositions. Their eclectic nature both surprises and delights.
You can find these albums and more on the Iridium Records label. It’s a trip well worth taking.
