I’m a NASA nerd.
I wasn’t quite three years old when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon in 1969. I do recall seeing a little of the final moon landing, Apollo 17, in ‘72. I’ve been hooked ever since.
I cheered for Apollo/Soyuz. I cheered for the first space shuttle launch in ‘81. I cried at the loss of the shuttles Challenger and Columbia. I tremble with anticipation of Project Artemis. I can’t wait until we get back to the moon and then head to Mars. I just wish I could go with them.

The other night, I started assembling a new playlist. From the third song forward, I was shooting from the hip, picking the next song that popped into my head. I started to realize there was a theme to what I was simply going to call CirdecSongsSpins 56: Space. These were tunes I’d love to hear were I flying in the great beyond.
This playlist will be a first. Every playlist I’ve assembled to date has a definitive beginning and end. This list will be open-ended. For every song I think of, there will be at least two more I haven’t. So, rather than curse myself for forgetting a song, I’ll just add it and keep going. If you’re onboard, keep your eyes on this playlist. But the first four hours should provide a decent start.
So, enjoy the ride as CirdecSongs goes to space.
