It’s Jazz Sunday!
Quartets don’t come much better than. John Coltrane with McCoy Tyner (piano), Jimmy Garrison (bass), and Elvin Jones (drums). They took jazz and bent it to their will.
The first time I heard this song (by way of the album Live at Birdland), I found myself bouncing around the living room shouting encouragement to a band that recorded the tune some 30 years before. I couldn’t help myself. They were on fire!
This version smolders, too. Take it in!
