The best progressive rock bands are exactly that: progressive. They don’t rest on their laurels. They stretch out as far as possible whenever it’s possible.

This is why I enjoy the music of Tu-Ner. It’s a non-stop adventure from beginning to end.

Markus Reuter

Markus Reuter (Touch Guitar U8), Trey Gunn (Warr Guitar), and Pat Mastelotto (acoustic and electronic percussion) are three highly adventurous musicians. The music they make reflects that. It’s slinky, it’s precise, it’s percussive. You might think you know where it’s going, but it will ultimately veer off in a different direction.

Trey Gunn

Gunn and Mastelotto are King Crimson alums, which speaks volumes about their skillsets. And then there’s Reuter, whose dark musical soundscapes and top-flight improvisational abilities make for the perfect fit with his bandmates.

Pat Mastelotto

Tu-Ner is definitely one of those bands whose music is better heard than explained. The guys stay rooted to their spots onstage. The music is what matters. The audience follows suit, with their eyes glued on the stage and their ears wide open.

This music is next level. I took a little time to capture pictures on both my camera and my iPhone. You are looking at the latter.
