I’ve been so busy lately, I never got the chance to present Day 3 of my fantasy progressive rock festival. I finally have a little time to tell you about it. That’s the good thing about a fantasy concert: it’ll be right there waiting for you.

The same rules apply: it’s a FANTASY festival. Certain musicians appear in more than one band. Luckily, logistics are irrelevant. And if your favorite artist doesn’t appear, feel free to organize your own festival.

Let’s get to it, shall we?

Opening the show will be The Aristocrats, a trio of ridiculously talented musicians guaranteed to get Day 3 off to a rollicking start. You may want to put that seat belt on quickly, ladies and gents.

Up next is the killer bass duo of Julie Slick and Marco Machera. They call themselves EchoTest. Watch out for this band, ladies and gents. They are and will be a force to be reckoned with.

Next up is the uber talented Mike Keneally and his equally skilled band. You’ll be hard pressed to find a band this talented showing this much joy on stage. If that’s not what music is all about, I don’t know what is.

Up next is the legendary Brand X. Their music needs no introduction anywhere in the civilized prog world. So let’s cut the chitchat and bring them on stage!

Up next is one of my all-time favorites, Bruford. Watch as a drummer and his band do things with time signatures that will shake the foundation of the most experienced musicians. Put on your helmets!

Up next is a trio of extraordinary musicians from Canada. They have a string of brilliant albums and a rabid fan base. I’m sure it’s been a while since they shared a bill with anyone, so give an extra warm welcome to Rush!

Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to welcome to the stage one of the stalwarts of progressive rock. You know them! You love them! You can’t rock out in odd meters without them! Here they are! It’s Yes!

There was no doubting King Crimson was going to headline the CirdecSongs Progfest. The only question was, which era? To the surprise of many, I’m sure, I’ve chosen the Double Trio band from the ‘90s. They can handle the ‘80s material (my favorite), they have their own album, which includes “Dinosaur” (my favorite Crimson song), and they’ll even sprinkle in an older classic. I can’t think of a better way to close the show!

And there you have it. I hope you enjoyed the show. There just might be a fantasy jazz festival in the offing. You never know.
